Salary: £36,000 – £42,000 per year

This job is poised for growth. The business is actively looking to create a strong succession plan and are now recruiting their “future leaders”.

As the buyer you’ll be building and developing relationships with the existing supply base as well as conducting benchmarking activities to ensure you are getting the best products at the best price.

You’ll introduce KPI’s to monitor supplier performance and establish contracts with metrics designed to protect the business. There is a huge amount of knowledge in the business and they will help you and guide you on this, giving you all the support you need.

The job is highly numerical, you’ll need to scrutinise the numbers understand and challenge price increases and use historical data to support this. You’ll use the sales forecast to anticipate demand and monitor consumer behaviour/supplier reliability to ensure there is no interruption to supply.

What do you need?

Ideally you’ll be a graduate with a couple of years’ industry experience. In either a purchasing or similar supply chain role within manufacturing.

You’re ambitious and tenacious. Someone who finds solutions for every problem.

You’re a natural communicator who can build trust. You can network internally, identify key stakeholders and you always deliver both internally and externally. You’ll become the product expert on your category.

A driving licence will be necessary as there will be supplier visits
