Business Test Lead
Well known brand in financial services is recruiting a Business Test Lead. As the Test Lead, your job is to manage the testing of a project or series of small projects through the Test planning, design & delivery phases. Successfully matrix managing a team of Business resources to deliver robust testing outcomes, whilst at the same time managing relationships with suppliers to deliver defect resolutions.

As a Business Test Lead responsibilities will include:

– You will be responsible for the definition of the Test Strategy for the project(s) you have delivery responsibility for (N.B. The overall scope of the Test Strategy will include IT Testing (unit, system and integration) Business User Acceptance Testing (including Operations, non-functional and Process Testing) and Regression Testing (if amending an existing system))
– Develop the test plan for the tasks, dependencies and participants required to mitigate the risks to system quality and obtain stakeholder support for this plan. Some of the responsibility for detailed testing will be owned by external third parties, however the Test Lead will own the overall Test Plan and be responsible for co-ordinating all elements of the plan including executing BUAT on behalf of the business.
– Develop the test scenarios and scripts for the project(s) you have delivery responsibility for
– Responsible for the definition of test environment requirements and management of those environments to ensure testing outcomes are achieved
– Test execution in line with base lined plans
– Management of defects arising from testing to ensure they are correctly prioritised and resolved in a timely manner to support delivery of the testing milestones
– Resource management and planning (including business resource), to ensure test activities deliver to committed plans
– Test progression and defect position reporting to stakeholders including the Project Manager, Business SMEs and preparing reports for Steering Committee
– Raise project risks, issues, assumptions & dependencies arising from the testing work stream to the Project Manager
– The Test Lead will document the Test Results. The Test Lead will facilitate the production of Acceptance Criteria for “go live”. This will include the actual criteria and the sign off process

As a Business Test Lead your skills/experience will include:

– Five to seven years’ experience in testing complex business focused projects and change management, ideally within insurance/financial services.
– Strong Quality Assurance and Testing knowledge including familiarity with Industry Standards where applicable
– Good working knowledge of best practice financial processes and systems – with demonstrated ability to develop same
– Software quality assurance experience
– Business Process Testing experience
– Ability to create value generating alternative and innovative solutions to problems
– Experience of co-ordinating people to complete tasks
– Experience working within a matrix-style structure
– Knowledge of FS industry (ideally the Insurance industry) and products/processes
– Strong testing management skills, ability to work within a defined framework covering testing processes and standards.
– Strong leadership skills, adept at driving forward change and dealing with challenging groups of stakeholders

On offer is a basic of c40k-50k, also car allowance and bonus.
