Salary: £21.6 – £24 per hour
Capita Resourcing are currently recruiting for their client Manchester City Council an Experienced Building Surveyor.
Working within Capital Programme & Property (CPP) formerly Corporate Technical Services (CTS) we have an immediate need to obtain the services of a qualified building surveyor to support and lead on building refurbishment, building extension and building maintenance projects across the City’s public buildings and school estate.
Background
MCC has been at the forefront of developing long term collaborative framework agreements for both construction and capital programme related consultancy services over the last ten years.
During this time, by far the biggest demand for BS Services has been from the BusinessGroups in Corporate Technical Services.
The BS consultancy group provides a full range of BS services including design and contract administration, defects analysis, condition surveys, technical challenge, quality supervisor, etc.
The position will require the person to work with Business Group 1 from MCC offices, within the Town Hall Extension and to visit sites across Manchester and possibly Greater Manchester, as required over a normal 5 day working week.
A variety of commissions are regularly received by Business Group 1 and schemes are allocated across the group dependant upon individual skills and capacity.
Service Requirements
highly developed building surveying skills with extensive experience acting as lead discipline on projects on public buildings and schools, undertaking the design, specification and contract administration on the projects
Experience of leading in a multi-disciplinary working environment.
Highly developed CAD skills.
Experienced in the use of Revit would be an advantage.
An understanding of the Public Sector Partnering Contracts and the NEC 3.The successful candidate must be a Registered Practitioner i.e. Chartered Member in a relevant Constructed related Profession with substantial post qualification experience or have experience in an office practising the disciplines contained within the group.
