Atom Financial are qualified, chartered accountants and directors Matt and Matthew have over 40 years combined experience in senior finance and operational roles.

You’ll be offered hybrid working, a minimum of 3 days per week in the Stockton office is required. However, if you prefer to work in the office everyday this is fine too!

Atom Financial provide a wide range of Financial Consultancy Services to help SME businesses grow, offering a flexible, highly experienced alternative to in-house recruitment.
Having worked together previously, Matt and Matthew realised the potential they had to create their own space as a provider of finance managed services to SME businesses.
They have helped businesses achieve private equity investment, growth by acquisition and organic growth, and have experience of working with scale-up and start-up firms.
Currently ahead of forecast, Matt and Matthew have plans to grow the business and become a fully integrated provider of FD-level and Finance Team support to their clients.
About the role
You’ll manage the day-to-day bookkeeping activities across a portfolio of clients, this will include Sole traders, Partnerships and Limited companies.
As part of this role, you may be required to go onsite and work directly the clients depending on the demands of the individual client.
You’ll be confident in preparing VAT returns, journals and assisting with the preparation of clients’ management accounts. Along with controlling the sales ledger, raising invoices and dealing with credit control. You will also manage purchase ledger which will include reconciling supplier statements.
As you help to grow the business, your client portfolio will grow, and so will the team.
About you
You’re a solid bookkeeper looking for an opportunity with a company that is on an upward trajectory in their growth plan.
You may have studied up to level 3 AAT but this is not essential. Your experience will outweigh qualifications.
You might have trained in practice and moved to industry, or you may well be a bookkeeper who developed in industry with a SME, either way you will be able to demonstrate that you have significant experience to be successful in the role.
You’ll have experience with payroll preparation, ideally weekly and monthly using either Sage payroll or Xero. Both would be great!
As part of your payroll tasks, you will be expected to check and process expense claims.
You’ll have a get-up-and-go attitude, with the ability to interact, report back and advise clients and work closely with your colleagues.
You are confident both in yourself and what you do, you have excellent communication skills and build relationships very easily and quickly.
And you have the confidence to help build the Atom Financial brand at award nights and business events.
