Senior tax accountant role based in a local accountancy practice based in Southport town centre. This is an honest and experienced practice who have been in operation since 1983.

They specialise in all aspects of accountancy services, and are looking for a senior accountant who specialises in tax accounting.

They are one of the most successful accountancy practices in the North West, and this is an exciting opportunity, for an experienced accountant seeking a fresh opportunity.

Senior tax accountant Position Overview

Tax Compliance:

Lead the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.

Ensure timely and accurate compliance with all tax regulations.

Tax Planning:

Provide strategic tax planning advice to optimize the organization’s tax position.

Identify opportunities for tax savings and incentives.

Accounts preparation

Preparing statutory and management accounts

Research and Analysis:

Conduct research on tax laws and regulations to stay abreast of changes.

Analyze the impact of new tax laws on the organization and recommend necessary adjustments.

Financial Reporting:

Prepare and review tax provisions for financial statement reporting.

Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Client Advisory:

Act as a key point of contact for tax-related and other inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.

Provide expert advice on tax implications for business decisions.

Audit Support:

Coordinate and assist with external tax audits.

Prepare necessary documentation and respond to audit inquiries.

Team Leadership:

Supervise and mentor junior tax staff, providing guidance and support.

Review the work of team members to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Senior tax accountant Position Requirements

• At least 7 years’ experience working within accountancy practice
• ACCA, ACA, AAT, ATT is preferred
• Presentable, confident, and good on the phone

Senior tax accountant Position Remuneration

• Salary is dependant on experience, but can be between £30-60k
• 4 weeks holiday plus bank holidays
• Standard pension
