We have a fantastic opportunity for a commercial Finance specialist to join our team as a Bid Finance Manager. Working within our Defence sector, this role is key to the success of the sector bids and will involve engagement with senior stakeholders throughout the sector and in some instances UK/Group leadership teams.

The Bid Finance Manager will be responsible for:

  • Providing financial support to the Defence SFM Bid Team, estimating, reviewing, and challenging bid requirements, reviewing risks and opportunities
  • Creation of new bid models, using appropriate software or Microsoft packages, and ongoing model improvements designed to fit and easily adapt to specific client criteria
  • Supporting the Head of Finance in client meetings, dialogue and negotiation sessions as part of the tender process
    • Working across functions in conjunction with Subject Matter Experts covering all lines of the P+L, to ensure all financial offers are accurate, maximised and fully understood (Foodbuy, Sector Finance, Food Ops & HR).
  • Providing commercial insight on the market place by analysing external sources and by using previous bid feedback and intelligence
  • Working collaboratively with Sector Finance to establish solid benchmarks, sharing all intelligence to ensure a consistent One Compass approach
  • Assisting the Head of Finance to create and maintain a suite of reporting.
  • Demonstrating an understanding of and application of the relevant finance concepts to all commercial bids

This is a highly strategic role that is right for someone capable of analysing large sets of data, taking only the relevant and key information forwards to the team as well as evidencing through financial reports.

The successful Bid Finance Manager will :

  • Be CIMA/ACCA/ACA Qualifies with at least 2 years post qualification experience
  • Possess high numeric and analytical skills and able to analyse and evaluate information
  • Have excellent attention to detail with high levels of accuracy
  • Be experienced in use of Power BI and Power Query
  • Have advanced Excel skills including Index, Match, Sumif, Sumifs, Countif, Countifs, Array formulas, String functions, Power Pivot, Pivot tables, charting, advanced conditional formatting,
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate written information concisely and logically
  • Work effectively and efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines
