Bid Finance Analyst
Up to £45,000 per annum DOE + competitive package
Hybrid Working – 2/3 days on site
Due to a significant increase in bid activity we have a new opportunity for an experienced finance analyst to join our finance team as a Bid Finance Analyst within our exciting Defence sector.
As Bid Finance Analyst you will be responsible for providing financial support to the Defence SFM Bid Team, including supporting delivery through constructing commercial models to be submitted as part of bid proposals.
You will work alongside the sales team and subject matter experts to develop accurate and compelling financial proposals. The role will also include:
- Looking for continuous improvement and sharing of best practice in the approach taken to commercial modelling.
- Providing data analysis of current contract site information data versus original data and ascertaining movement to be used for comparison against new contracts
- Supporting with bid work aligned to the financial offer for the tenders allocated
- Working across functions to ensure all financial offers are accurate, maximised and fully understood (Foodbuy, Sector Finance, Food Ops & HR).
- Supporting the Finance Manager in Client meetings, dialogue and negotiation sessions as part of the tender process
- Providing commercial insight on the market place by analysing external sources and by using previous bid feedback and intelligence
- Working collaboratively with Sector Finance to establish solid benchmarks, sharing all intelligence to ensure a consistent One Compass approach
- Assisting the Finance Manager to create and maintain a suite of reporting and Bid Financial Analysis.
- Demonstrating an understanding of and application of the relevant finance concepts to all commercial bids.
The successful Bid Finance Analyst will:
- Be CIMA/ACCA or ACA Qualified or 6 months from qualification with varied experience in accounting roles
- Possess great commercial awareness and capability including the ability to understand scenario planning.
- Have advanced Excel skills with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Be disciplined with a strong orientation towards processes and procedures
- Have Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to portray written information consisely and logically
- Possess experience of business partnering non-finance professionals
- Be confident to challenge senior management where appropriate.
- Able to work under pressure and to deliver in agreed timescales
