Bi / SQL Developer

Salary: £42,000 – £54,000 per year

We seek a talented BI / SQL Developer to join our specialist team, helping our insurer, broker and MGA clients in the insurance sector maximise the value of their data. You will play a key role in delivering a range of services including migrating client data to new systems, consolidating multiple data sources into a data wrehouse, and developing dashboards for reporting and analytics. You must have a strong technical background in T-SQL, ETL and SSRS with experience in handling large data sets and maintaining a Datawarehouse. This role will suit someone who enjoys working as a team player in a fast-paced and agile environment, whilst at the same time having the flexibility and comfort of working from home.

Job Description

* Working with a team of BI Developers and Data Analysts analysing and mapping different data sources and implementing reporting solutions.

* Owning the development and optimization of ETL processes and producing complex SQL scripts and stored procedures

* Developing and maintaining the data quality layer of our solutions using T-SQL building data marts and views.

* Ensuring accuracy through reconciliation and working with support to fix and retest any issues.

* Working with developers to further automate our analytics, bordereaux, archiving and sanctions checking solutions to support insurance processes with tools such as Azure services, API’s and Python etc.

* Supporting internal processes and systems, ensuring deadlines are met using project mgt. and good communication skills working with team members and clients primarily online.

Required skills/ experience:

Essential

* 3-5 years of experience with SQL and producing complex scripts and stored procedures

* Data analysis, mapping and data warehouse development knowledge

* Experience in ETL processes including the ability to analyse existing ETL

* Familiarity with SSRS, MS Excel, Power BI

* Strong analytical and organisation skills

* Confidence in communicating both in business and technical terms

Desirable

* Insurance sector experience

* Data warehouse development / maintenance experieince

* Experience in using Python or R

* Other data visualisation tool experience Tableau, Qlikview etc.

* Azure, AI and API knowledge or experience

* C#, MVC,.NET

* SharePoint
