Storthfield House
Storthfield House is a 22-bed hospital specialising in male mental health rehabilitation in a safe and comfortable environment, with adjacent community housing, The Sycamores, which provides a further community based service for 6 clients who are ready to move to a more independent lifestyle.
The multi-disciplinary team at Storthfield House is made up of medical, psychology, nursing and occupational therapy staff. These staff members work in partnership with the patient and with individual community teams to ensure that treatment programs match the patient?s needs, expectations and the requirements of future community placement.
Job Role
You will be required to participate in client interaction, assisting clients with daily living skills/personal hygiene and undertake observations as and when required. This is a permanent position working 42 hours per week, on a flexible rota of 7 days. This post it to cover both the day and night shifts. You will however also be expected to work additional hours to cover annual leave and sickness absences.
You will also learn from some of the most dedicated and inspirational people in our profession and just like our service users you will be learning all the time through our on-going mentoring and support.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a flexible self-motivated individual who is able to work on their own initiative. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to demonstrate non-discriminatory working practices. Applicants wherever possible should have a full driving licence as you will be expected to drive residents to and from appointments and activities.
The successful candidate will preferably have experience of working in a care environment and hold a NVQ qualification at level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, non-experienced applications will be considered as Cambian offers a comprehensive training package for individuals who are looking for a career change.
