The Role

Our Cloud Solution Architecture team are made up of specialist architects across the AWS and Azure cloud platform; spanning both infrastructure and the application tier. They work with our customers to understand their business and technical challenges and provide expert advice and designs on how to migrate and leverage the best that cloud has to offer. They are constantly evaluating industry trends, to ensure the advice they provide to the business and their customers is always current.

Duties and Responsibilities

•Provide Technical leadership on customer opportunities, working alongside cloud sales specialists.

•Run design workshops with customers to understand the business and technical landscape of our customers

•Produce customer facing presentations; lead or support tender and bid responses.

•Design POCs making use of new technologies to highlight potential use cases to customers and the wider business

•Deliver detailed cloud infrastructure designs (HLD and SoW) and work with the technical implementation team to deliver the solution.

•Work Internally with Principle Architects and Product Managers on the blueprints and standard service offerings that underpin SCC client facing offerings; be the voice of the customer.

•Stakeholder Management – Guide and Influence technical and commercial stakeholders at director/VP level

•Mentor other cloud solution architects

Required Skills

•Experience with architecting greenfield AWS Solutions

•Demonstrable AWS based cloud architecture and migration skills and experience covering AWS VPC, Load balancing, AWS RDS, DynamoDB,

•Strong understanding across cloud and infrastructure components to deliver end to end cloud solutions (IAAS/PAAS)

•3+ years’ experience as a Technical Architect, with focus on AWS, cloud compute, storage, and networking

•Intermediate understanding of central networking concepts: VLANs, layer2/3 routing, access lists & load balancing

•Good understanding of design of native Cloud applications, Cloud application design patterns and practices

•Experience delivering consultative cloud services.

Great to have

•Good understanding of one or more programming languages

•Good understanding of DevOps practices and methods – Agile & Lean Development, CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Automation etc.

•Knowledge of hybrid Cloud technologies.

•Experience with ARM templates and/or Terraform

•Strong business awareness and experience presenting to C Level Executives.
