Audit and Accounts Senior

Darlington

My client is a 5 partner Chartered Accountancy practice whose name is synonymous throughout the professional landscape of Tees Valley area and beyond. Having experienced significant strategic growth during the last 18 months in addition to winning two significant audits, they are now actively seeking to appoint an additional Audit & Accounts Senior.

The role

The role will be a mix of audit and accounts prep, perhaps 40% audit, 60% accounts. The ideal candidate would need to have experience of dealing with medium/large sized companies and possess strong technical skills including financial reporting matters relating to businesses of that size.

The role involves planning, leading and performing audits and presenting the files to a manager/partner review level. The incumbent will be responsible for all onsite aspects of the audit fieldwork including liaising with clients regarding timescales, offering advice and recommendations for improvements to client systems, training and oversight of more junior staff members and review of their work.

When not performing audit work, the candidate will be assisting with accounts preparation for small to medium sized limited companies as well as assisting the partners with ad-hoc assignments from time to time (cashflow forecasts, business plans, etc).

The candidate

Applicants may be ACA, ACCA or AAT qualified though if a candidate meets the criteria and is ‘qualified by experience’, they should not be discouraged from applying. Qualified candidates will receive paid for CPD courses so that they can meet their annual structured requirements.
