Ideally, we are seeking applicants at Associate Director level to help assist the delivery of a wide range of projects. You will be working with globally acclaimed clients in both the public and private sector working from the international to local level.

You will possess extensive experience and a recognised professional qualification (CEng, CIOB, etc), you will be the lynchpin between understanding the clients’ needs and delivering the technical solution. You will lead project teams of in-house and supply chain specialists and be responsible for all aspects of delivery including managing scope, risks, schedule, health and safety, and financial performance and may also act in a technical assurance role.

Project involvement varies from project inception through to development, from site finding, due diligence and site appraisal, design and assessment, consenting and delivery for a diverse portfolio of national and local government, utilities owners/operators and house builder clients.

Your workload will be varied, but key will be your client relationship skills, your ability to interrogate requirements, applying technical standards and assurance, report writing, presenting and growing the team. This is a hands-on role, you will be expected to undertake many elements of the work yourself, as well as managing others’ contributions.

There is significant flexibility in term s of location (Leamington Spa, Reading, London, Bristol, Birmingham, Glasgow, Newcastle upon Tyne, Knutsford, Shrewsbury or Leeds).

Key Responsibilities

Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with clients

Management of project budgets and schedules
Ensuring work is delivered in accordance with Wood policies and procedures: health and safety, security, environment and quality
Coaching junior members of the team

Proven experience in the built environment sector at a senior level
Management of multidisciplinary teams
Analytical and communication skills: Interpreting factual information, drawing conclusions and articulating the conclusions concisely Qualifications

Engineering, surveying or architecture degree
