THE ROLE:
Assistant Account (Progression potential to Senior Accounts Assistant)
Reporting to: Financial Controller
As an Assistant Accountant you will be responsible for:
• Management Account preparation for entire Group and accounts for Group Companies on individual basis.
• Group Revenue reporting to Managers and Directors.
• All balance sheet reconciliations.
• Inter-company reconciliation
• Sales Ledger analysis, reporting and updates.
• Group Debtors management, reporting, updates, allocation and implement full credit control management.
• VAT for all group companies.
• Online banking, BACS, Cheques and cash payment and cash book of whole group and on accounting system.
• Review relevant systems, reporting and control processes with recommendations to improve the efficiency;
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations
• Liaising with internal departments to resolve queries.
• Provide support to accounts staff where required.
Key Skills / Qualifications / Behaviours required:
• Around 2-3 years’ experience within a similar position
• Strong knowledge of accounting procedures and terminology
• Ability to establish and maintain good customer relationships, both internally and externally
• Qualifications in bookkeeping. (or studying towards)
• Good knowledge of Microsoft packages including outlook and excel.
• Good knowledge of Sage50 or similar accounting software
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Good IT skills
• Good numerical and problem solving skills
• The ability to work in a team as well as individually
• A strong telephone manner and can-do approach
• Overall an ability to hit the ground running
