Our Client is one of the fastest expanding and most highly respected biotech companies in the UK, having developed an enviable reputation for quality across its entire business model. They now wish to expand through the recruitment of an Assay Development Scientist.

JOB SUMMARY
This role will involve working with a novel PCR instrument and the development and optimisation of bespoke assays. Individual will work with senior scientists to optimise instruments and assays. They will require good organisational skills and be able to analyse, interpret and clearly document data.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Perform experiments, analyse data and design follow up studies with minimum supervision
• Write clear and detailed laboratory books, technical reports and SOPs
• Good communication with line manager and team members

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED AS MINIMUM:
• BSc/MSc degree or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years related experience
• Good knowledge and understanding of molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry or related disciplines
• Knowledge and skills to conduct biochemical or molecular biology experimental work to achieve targets
• Ability to perform analysis of data from experiments, derive conclusions and plan follow up experiments
• Good troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Demonstrate effective written and oral communication of scientific data
