Asbestos Health & Safety Consultant – Midlands

This expanding asbestos consultancy that provides various professional advice and technical support services on a wide range of asbestos, occupational hygiene, water hygiene, Health & Safety and environmental disciplines is actively looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Health and Safety Consultant with a broad range of consultancy experience to work for them in the Midlands area. Would consider applications from Birmingham, Coventry or Leicestershire.

Ideally, the applicant will come from a strong technical, educational and consultancy and management background.

Must have attained the Health and Safety certificate/qualifications such like NEBOSH and CMIOSH. Having other certificates related to the role would be beneficial.

Will have substantial experience working within this role – Health & Safety – CDM, Auditing, and within the asbestos industries or sectors involved.

Ideally, the applicant will be competent in assessing suppliers and contractors appertaining to Health & Safety management systems.

Will have worked on various properties, building, sites, etc. – auditing.

Will be knowledgeable with other environmental issues and fire safety – fire risk assessments, etc.

Purpose of the Role:

Providing Health and Safety advice and consultancy services to the company’s mixed portfolio of clients – ensuring that the services provided are in accordance with the legislation and procedures.

Main Role:

Attending the sites and undertaking various inspections relating to the Health & Safety performance of the teams.

Undertaking Health & Safety risk assessments on commercial and public properties, auditing staff on site and dealing with all aspects of Health & Safety issues – IOSH.

Carrying out Health & Safety compliance audits.

Coordinating.

Providing technical support to clients as and when required.

Liaising with the company’s prestigious clients and advising clients of their obligations.

Writing reports – Auditing, Health and Safety and environmental reports.

Getting involved with training and inductions and staff.

The successful candidate must be versatile, flexible, have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, be conversant with the Health and Safety legislation, have the ability to use the Database, etc., work independently and must be prepared to travel extensively when required.
