Qualifications required

  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent – Essential.
  • Grade C or above in English and Maths – Essential.

  • Good communication skills and ability to negotiate work priorities.
  • Confident telephone manner.
  • Good IT skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel).

36 hours Monday-Friday 9am-5pm

KEY TASKS:
• Deal with incoming calls and emailed queries in a professional and efficient manner.
• Make travel arrangements for senior executives.
• Process invoices and internal recharges, expenses claims forms and credit card statements.
• Help maintain the office filing systems.
• Undertake audio typing and other word processing (reports, agendas, minutes of meetings, PowerPoint presentations and other documents) as required.
• Arrange meetings, including canvassing for dates, booking venues, arranging room set-up, equipment, catering and attendance.
• Provide booking support for other ad-hoc meetings.
• Provide secretarial support to meetings, including issuing reports and ensuring minutes are written up and distributed.
• Support colleagues during busy periods to arrange printing, photocopying and dispatch of key materials.
• Ensure contacts are maintained databases.
GENERAL TASKS:
• Maintain own professional knowledge and skills and participate actively in team and business development and up-dating activities.
• To ensure compliance with data protection and database guidelines.
• Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of ISO Quality Assurance within the CIPFA Group.

Things to consider

This is a busy team based in an open plan office. You will be working with some of our most senior managers and a professional approach is essential.

You will be invited to an initial screening session at TowerSkills, Tower Hamlets College.
If you do not attend your application will be rejected.
You must bring with you to the screening session the following:

  • A proof of identification such as passport or driver’s licence
  • Certificates declared in your application
  • National Insurance Number
  • Details of two referees

There will be a 2 week Bootcamp prior to interview which you must be able to attend to be considered.

Training provider

Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration (QCF). Training will be a combination of attending college one day per week for a number of weeks as well as on site assessments.
They may also be a requirement for Functional Skills:
Level 2 Functional Skills qualification in English
Level 2 Functional Skills qualification in Maths
Level 2 Functional Skills qualification in ICT
