Bournemouth and Poole College now have an interesting new opening for an Apprentice Learning Environment Advisor to join the team on a full time, permanent basis. In return,you will receive a competitive salary of £10,186 – £20,102 per annum (depending on age).

About the role:
As the Apprentice Learning Environment Advisor, you will assist in the provision and promotion of Learning Environment resources and Information services available to all staff and students.
Responsibilities as our Apprentice Learning Environment Advisor will include:
- Welcoming and supporting staff and students in accessing the facilities, resources and services to meet their needs, and providing general library inductions and orientation.
- Be a first point of contact for users by staffing the front desk, handling general enquiries about the library service, and signposting users to information or services.
- Performing key library administrative tasks using the Library Management System (Heritage), such as managing circulations, maintaining and creating records, running management reports, gathering data, and assisting in the smooth running of the LMS.
- Cataloguing and processing new items by adding them to the LMS, managing stock, and assisting in the curation of the collection.
- Supporting the development of the collections and ensuring that the collection development policy is applied in relation to library resources.
- Liaising with tutors to ensure resources and services are aligned with the requirements of courses.
- Proactively promoting library resources and services, produce publicity materials, create displays for relevant national awareness weeks and the promotion of resources.
- Supporting users in the use of IT equipment, software, electronic resources, and referring them to other members of the library team when appropriate.
- Assisting in the delivery of inductions and tutorials, advising students in how best to access, navigate and effectively use physical and digital resources.
- Designing and implementing surveys, feedback forms, and student focus groups to monitor the impact of services, user numbers and engagement.
As our Apprentice Learning Environment Advisor, you’llideally have:
- Good working knowledge of software packages including
- Microsoft Office, Email and or other computer-based systems)
- Experience of customer services
- Experience of working in a team
- Minimum of 5 GCSE’s Grade 4 – 9 (A –C) or equivalent including English and Maths.
- Willingness to: Attend evening open events when required. Provide cover at all sites.
