Salary: £30,000 – £36,000 per year

Anti- Money Laundering and Compliance Officer

Our client is experiencing rapid expansion within their property department, therefore they are now recruiting for someone to work within their Anti- Money Laundering (AML ) department alongside their conveyancing team.

The AML Compliance team have overall responsibility for carrying out checks so that they don’t handle money obtained by criminal means.

The Candidate

• Good knowledge of the conveyancing process, or willing to learn
• An understanding of the AML rules
• An excellent communicator (AML Issues can require sensitive handling )
• An ability to deal with clients who may be demanding
• The ability to work under pressure
• An excellent eye for detail and spotting inconsistencies
• A good team player

The Role

You will work for the chief Financial Officer who has overall responsibility for Ant- Money Laundering

• Communicating with clients and third parties to understand how they are funding their property purchases
• Gathering various documents to support their purchase funding
• Checking documentation is fully compliant and genuine
• Investigating the legitimacy of the deposit and financials of the clients
• Assisting the Money Laundering Reporting Officer in making suspicious activity reports if necessary
• Updating the team regarding their client’s transactions
• Dealing with enquiries regarding the compliance procedures
