Analyst / Developer (Web Based Applications)

Our client, a provider of web based back office software applications to a niche industry sector worldwide, is seeking an Analyst/Developer to join their growing team. Working from Banbury and reporting to the development team overseas, this development / analyst role requires candidates that have a strong, commercial, understanding of.NET application development. To primarily assist dynamic project teams in the delivery of implementation, presales and proof of concept systems and to maintain/further develop local and web applications currently being deployed at customer sites.

This will include application installations and configurations, fault finding and analysis. The role will serve as a liaison between the development team (based outside the UK) and the core customer base in the UK.

Main Responsibilities

Support, maintenance, continued development and fault finding of existing local applications
To document and develop new applications, using a defined feature writing process
To serve as an interface between the development teams, customers and support team
To support the sales/project/R&D process
To log and resolve defects in the company applications and to assist with onsite and office based installation and configuration of applications
To perform tasks defined by the designated project manager to support the project process

Specific Responsibilities

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

Educated to Degree Level Standard (or equivalent) or above in a computer science subject
A high level of technical, written literacy
Good working knowledge of MS Windows including MS Office
MS SQL 2008+
An understanding of interfacing using API’s
Use of Visual Studio
2 years commercial experience in.NET development of local/winform applications
Web development experience which includes C#, HTML, CSS and Javascript

Desirable

Commercial experience in.NET development of web applications
Mobile App development
SQK server development experience
of Sencha Web Application Lifecycle Management Platform
MS Access experience
An understanding of software workflow solutions
Optimal OCR Configuration
An understanding of computer imaging and local device control (e.g. ripping and manipulating video data from a DVD or Compact Flash)
A fluent second language

Other requirements

Car suitable for business travel
May involve overnight stays away from home (UK and Internationally)
Valid Passport, Driving license and own vehicle for occasional business travel (subsidised)

Due to the requirements of this role and the nature of work our client conducts, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a Security Check (referred to as ‘SC’) which will form part of the offer process.
