Main duties and responsibilities

Run conformity checks at key stages throughout the project;

Ensure that Service Management have an effective mechanism for bringing new or amended services into the production environment;

Assist in shaping AIS best practice and processes, including leading a stream of work;

To provide Delivery teams a single point of contact from within Service Management to ensure that service requirements are identified and addressed throughout in the project lifecycle;

To liaise with other parts of service management and its stakeholders to resolve any areas of risk and to provide recommendations and/or escalation;

Work with Special Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify the Service Management acceptance requirements and provide assurance that the Project Manager delivers those requirements;

To collate checklist responses and produce a handover report containing risks, issues, recommendations and observations for the Senior Management team;

Produce regular Management Information (MI) reporting.

Key tasks and deliverables

There are multiple short-term tasks needing support, which may span across the Defence and Security environment

A candidate will need to be able to flexibly respond to changing requirements.

Tasks will generally be complex and unbounded “wicked” problems that require the successful candidate to understand the stakeholders and look at the entire systems ranging from organisational design and defence reform to bespoke military systems

Engage with and support the staff delivering short duration systems thinking and systems consulting tasks.

This is expected to use a subset of the skill mentioned below.

Undertake stakeholder analysis, support and facilitate multidimensional workshops, utilise systems thinking and systems analysis tools and techniques to support customers in defining their requirements and providing them with options and solutions to solve their problems.

Experience Required

Proven experience of working on ‘wicked’ multi dimensional, complex, unbounded problems

Proven experience of working in a Systems engineering environment

Experience of using soft systems methodologies to support decision making

Operational Research & Operational Analysis (soft and hard) tools and techniques

Proven track record of facilitating multi stakeholder workshops with senior staff (up to 4*)

Good interpersonal skills

Good communication skills

Experience of working with the military and or government
