Gerrard McCall are recruiting on behalf of a well-established luxury travel company in London, specialising in creating bespoke luxury holidays and small group escorted tours to destinations throughout the world.

They who are currently seeking an Africa Specialist Travel Consultant for their successful Africa division. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has previous experience selling tailor-made luxury holidays to destinations in Africa and who has personally spent time in the region first hand.

The role:
• Tailor-making dream holidays to destinations in Africa
• Discussing and creating bespoke itineraries for new and existing clients
• Converting sales and confirming all travel arrangements
• Supplying clients with all necessary pre-departure information and documentation
• Being the first point of contact, from the initial enquiry until the clients’ return from holiday
• Liaising closely with the marketing team with regard to website content and promotional material

The package:
• Excellent basic plus bonuses
• Monday to Friday, business hours
• SW London location, close to many amenities
• Working as part of a happy, motivated team

Requirements:
• Previous experience selling luxury holidays to Africa
• Extensive first-hand knowledge of sub-Saharan Africa as a travel destination
• Previous and significant sales experience in luxury tour operating
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Fluent English – written and verbal
• Able to use an airline reservation system (Galileo)
• Confident and personable on the phone
• Highly motivated
• Prepared to travel at least once a year to Africa to develop knowledge and expertise
• Infectious enthusiasm for Africa as a travel destination
