One of the UK’s largest Fostering and Adoption charities is looking for an Adoption Social Worker to join their team in South East London. This is a permanent role offering an annual salary of £39,959 – £48,359.

Job duties will include:

– To recruit, assess, train and support a diverse range of adopters and permanent carers
for children.
– To undertake work to achieve permanence for children.
– To contribute to the development of the adoption agency, ensuring the highest
standards of professional practice.
– To participate in the recruitment of potential permanency carers, identifying training needs and delivering training as required.
– To undertake PAR assessments of potential permanent carers and annual adoption/foster carer reviews presenting these to the adoption panel as and when required.
– To plan and facilitate support groups when requested.
– To monitor and review the suitability and competence of permanent carers ensuring
they provide a safe, healthy, nurturing and learning environment for children/young people.
– To ensure that permanent carers fully understand the task, competencies to be
achieved and the standards expected, including record keeping and complaints and representation procedure.
– To participate in the duty and out of hours system as required.

In addition to the annual salary, the successful candidate will also receive:

To be considered for this role you must hold a recognised Social Work qualification and be registered with the HCPC. Adoption experience is not necessary but you must have some post qualifying experience in a children’s setting.
