Activities Coordinator – 37 hours

Reporting directly to the Care Home Manager, the Activities and Lifestyle Facilitator will be passionate about keeping our service users active and busy. This role is all about encouraging service users to join in activities and have fun so that they can maintain active and independent lives thereby enhancing wellbeing and enriching lives. This will be achieved through the creation and delivery of individualised activity plans based on the persons’ interests, abilities and life experience, for which this post holder is responsible.

Working as part of the care home team, the role of the Activities and Lifestyle Facilitator is proactive, and requires motivation, energy, enthusiasm and innovation, along with a sound understanding of the challenges that people face when living with dementia.

The post holder will actively engage with relatives and care teams to ensure that service users are facilitated to pursue individual hobbies and life interests, as well as coordinating general activities that will promote physical and mental well being, as well as social group events. This will include ensuring that opportunities are available for people to remain connected to local community links and services and religious or other bodies.

The post holder will need to be comfortable in a fluid and sometimes challenging environment and will be expected to contribute to the development of on site volunteer services.
