Salary: £26,000 per year

Accounts Semi Senior – Barnsley – Up to £20,000 with Study Support

The Role

Our client, a highly respected and innovative firm of Accountants are looking to recruit a part qualified or qualified AAT Accounts Semi Senior to join the firms Barnsley office.

The firm have a varied client base of small to medium sized OMB’s, as a result the role will offer an excellent opportunity to develop a wide range of experience within a full accounting environment.

The firm also adopt’s modern working principles along with maximising the latest accounting technology available within the market.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful individual will support one of firm’s Manager and will assist in the following:

* Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies

* Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts

* Client Bookkeeping which will include working at client premises

* Assist with client audits (training will be provided)

* Preparing corporate and personal tax returns

* Preparation of VAT returns

Skills and Qualities

To be considered for this position you will be a part qualified or qualified AAT with at least 3 years of experience working within a firm of accountants. You will have developed experience of preparing statutory accounts and tax computation with little supervision and looking to further develop your experience and accounting knowledge.

Applications of individuals who have decided not to take the formal qualification route but have developed suitable experience within a firm of accountants would also be encouraged.

A good working knowledge of Sage, Iris and Xero accounting software will also be a distinct advantage.
