Accounts Assistant / Trainee

Salary: £27,600 – £31,200 per year

The primary role will be to lead book-keeping and accounts assignments for a portfolio of the clients working closely with the relevant Client Manager or Director.

The firm’s client base is varied and includes clients in a wide range of sectors from start-ups and small limited companies to larger SME’s.

Accounts Assistant/Trainee About the Role

* All aspects of book-keeping

* Maintaining sales ledgers and purchase ledgers, reconciling bank statements.

* Utilising various accounting packages prepare clients VAT returns, CIS returns, Personal and Corporation Tax returns.

* Preparation of year end accounts for a variety of clients

* Assist in the general running of the practice and GDPR and AML compliance matters.

* Finalise files for Managers and Directors to review

* Correspond with clients

The successful Accounts Assistant/ Trainee will have:

* AAT qualified or part qualified ACCA/ ACA

* Minimum 3 years Practice experience

* Ideally you will have some recent audit experience

* Strong technical accounting skills

* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships

* A team player who is also comfortable leading a team

* Commercially astute

* Versatile and proactive approach
