Job Role: Accounts Assistant (Cashbook/Sales Ledger)
Salary: £13,500 – £16,000 dependant on experience
Location: Manchester

Our client has an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Assistant (Cashbook/Sales Ledger) to join the team based in Manchester. The successful candidate will join them on a full time permanent basis and will receive a competitive salary of £13,500 – £16,000 dependant on experience.

Currently they employ over 500 people and they have 12 depots across the UK as well as a Support Centre and Hub distribution centre based in Openshaw, in Manchester.
Reporting to the Management Accountant, the Accounts Assistant (Cashbook/Sales Ledger) will be involved with Bank Reconciliations / DD collections / International payments.
Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant (Cashbook/Sales Ledger)
– Bank reconciliations across all the bank accounts within the company, raising and resolving queries related to bank rec.
– Direct-Debit Run including processing D/D Mandates and Bounced D/D’s.
– Month end duties: Intercompany trading
– International payments and Foreign Currencies
– Ad hoc online payments
– Manage / Oversee all Daily Cashbook Activities
– Daily Cash Posting (Direct Receipts)
– Retro/Refund Payments via Bankline/Cheques
– Month End Auto-Cash-Posting Journals
– Contra Journals
– Bounced Cheques
– Transax Claims
– Issuing Paying-In Books to Depots.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience required Accounts Assistant (Cashbook/Sales Ledger)
– Ability to work on own initiative in a stand alone role
– Excellent data analytical skills
– Confident communicator with all levels of management within the company
– Extensive experience on having worked on bank reconciliations
– Foreign currency exchange rate forecast
– Advanced knowledge of working on excel spreadsheets
– Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
– Working in a fast paced environment
– Excellent team working skills
– The ability to work to daily/weekly/monthly deadlines
– Experience of working on software packages
