Brief Job Description
We are looking for an accounts assistant to join our clients existing team. You will be responsible for assisting with a variety of Sage accounting tasks and office based administration. You will also be required provide support for other members of staff in their duties, and when necessary provide cover for staff holidays and sickness.
Main Duties
· Accurately inputting data into the accounts system, to include; purchase invoices, sales invoices, supplier payments and payments received.
· Confidently support the accounts team.
· Undertake all general office administration duties in an efficient manner.
· Provide assistance to the existing administration team, including tasks allocated by them.
· Carry out administrative duties including printing, scanning and photocopying.
· File and retrieve company documents, records, and reports and ensure filling is up to date and well-managed.
· Act as reception cover during times of staff holiday or sickness.
· Interact with colleagues, maintaining a polite and helpful approach with our staff and members of the public
Skills required
· Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook
· Excellent IT skills
· GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths Grade C or above
· Have some understanding of accounting practices
· Sage accounts experience, or be prepared to undertake training to achieve this
· Ability to operate standard office equipment
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Presentable, polite and helpful at all times
We require the candidate to maintain confidentiality in respect of client, company and staff details. You will be joining a small team of staff and therefore must possess the ability to work together as a team but equally you must also be able to work alone and be able to prioritise your own workload.
