Accounts Assistant

Based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire our innovative client is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their successful team on a permanent basis.

This company focuses on adding value to its industry and work with a number of highly recognised businesses. They operate internationally with nearly 20 offices across Europe; they have 6 sites across the UK and have consistently grown to have over 250 employees, with a turnover of almost £108million.

This job would suit an ambitious individual to help assist with all aspects in transactional accounting. This role is a mix of administrative duties, control and reporting procedures, you will work under supervision and report into the Senior Finance Accounts Assistant for priority of work.

The successful candidate will have excellent written and spoken communication skills along with proven experience in Excel. Someone who is a fast learner, problem solver and has excellent attention to detail would be a good fit for this role.

Job responsibilities:

• Process all invoices on the accounts payable ledger
• Account receivable as and when required
• Liaise with suppliers and purchase department regarding any queries
• General bookkeeping duties
• Ensuring timely and accurate reconciliations of allocated balance sheet accounts
• Preparing and posting month end accruals journal
• Oversee a junior Purchase Ledger Clerk role including invoice entry/statement reconciliation /filing & managing the daily post
• Providing finance cover
• Required to undertake a wide variety of tasks, accurately and in a busy environment
• Utilise mainframe system and PC programs to optimise performance
• Achieve maximum co-operation with other functions and departments within the organisation
• Identify areas for self-improvement and training requirements
• Observe and comply with all company requirements
