Our client in Brighton is looking for an accounts assistant to join their ambitious team.

You will undertake a variety of finance duties, incorporating purchase and sales ledger, general ledger accounting as well as analysing a range of financial information. This opportunity would suit a professional and confident individual who is eager to learn and develop within a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completion of client’s bookkeeping from start to finish
  • Trial balance
  • Sales/purchase ledger
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Processing sales invoices, receipts and payments
  • Completing VAT returns
  • Completing CIS/PAYE returns
  • Maintaining fixed asset registers
  • Preparing Management Accounts and supporting schedules
  • Dealing with prepayments and accruals
  • Preparing year end files for the accountants
  • Self-assessment tax returns
  • Keeping up to date with the latest tax laws, rules and regulations
  • Assisting the Senior Accountants
  • Prepare appropriate schedules and reports as requested by clients and directors.
  • Dealing with financial paperwork and filing
  • Being able to communicate at all levels

Must have experience in an accountancy firm.
