Accounts Assistant £17,000 – £20,000
Sheridan Maine are currently recruiting an Accounts Assistant to join our client, an award winning leader within their industry on a permanent basis. Based in Portsmouth, this role is ideal for any candidate with basic accounts skills looking for that next career step.
Reporting to the Finance manager, your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
– Transferring cash between sales ledger accounts via journals.
– Bank reconciliations.
– Purchase ledger duties.
– Taking credit card payments.
– Liaising with credit controllers, cashiers department and customer.
– Providing cover/support for Credit Controllers.
– Chasing customers by phone.
– Assisting in weekly debt reporting.
Credit checking customers.
Successful candidates must have a good understanding of finance systems. AAT Studiers would be preferred but not essential. Good PC & Excel skills are also desirable. Candidates will also have excellent communication skills, a good eye for detail and the ability to work under pressure.
