My client is looking for an Accounts Assistant to work closely with the Company Accountant. Responsible for Accounts Payable function as well as performing general bookkeeping and accounts duties using the Sage X3 Package. Invoice and data entry are also a daily part of this role. In addition to this you will also be expected to help with general office administration duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Entering purchase invoices in the company accounts system
  • Preparation of BACS and manual payment runs
  • Dealing with all supplier queries as and when they arise.
  • Preparation of supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Preparation of control account reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • Preparation of weekly petty cash reconciliations for head office.
  • Preparation of monthly petty cash journal for head office and entry into the accounting system.
  • To assist Accountants with purchase invoicing
  • Review of expense claims and credit card payments, coding to the appropriate accounts and entry to the accounting system.
  • Maintaining a filing system to enable documents to be located and retrieved.
  • To provide cover for the UK Accountant and have a detailed knowledge of all AP processes
  • Support the Operations manager with the setup and coordination of any required Service / Maintenance contracts
  • Daily administration of any post into and out of the building
  • Responsible for the maintaining stock level in the Office, Kitchen and Warehouse areas
  • Booking and scheduling internal meetings as required by the leadership team
  • Management of the Room booking system
  • Pre and post meeting room set-up
  • Manage the Reception aspects of the building including welcoming customers and guests into the site
  • Coordinate with the Warehouse manager any Waste collections
  • Provide backup to the Warehouse manager in relation to Inventory management

The ideal Accounts Assistant will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Accounting experience
  • Basic VAT knowledge
  • Intrastat experience
  • An Accounting / Finance related qualification
  • ACCA / CIMA qualification (or working towards)
  • The ability to work quickly and efficiently in a busy environment
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • SAGE experience is advantageous
