The Academies Manager is a key member of the management team and is responsible for managing the apprenticeship delivery within our academies.
The Academies Manager will make a significant contribution to the growth and development of the provision within the academies model. This role will be responsible for ensuring that the apprenticeship provision is delivered with high success rates and is audit compliant.
The Academies manager will be an expert in ICT and will be involved in apprenticeship delivery.
MAIN DUTIES
• Contribute to the company strategic development plan which sets out the vision and key targets for the growth of apprenticeships.
• Implement the strategy to grow and develop the apprenticeship provision in key sectors as a result of LMI research and intelligence gathering
• Contribute to the development of a marketing strategy to support the plans for growth in apprentice numbers and income and to establish and maintain the reputation of the company
• To be able to respond to the changes to the apprenticeship funding model and develop a fully costed apprenticeship management and delivery model(s).
• Represent the company on various advisory bodies and business forums.
• Develop the apprenticeship brand, promoting apprenticeships to schools, parents, young people and businesses.
• Manage the Academy delivery team to ensure delivery of the provision is developed and maintained to a high standard.
• Develop, review and revise curriculum delivery materials to support the delivery of current and new apprenticeship frameworks
• Build strong networks with employers, National Skills Academies and Sector Skills Councils.
• Contribute to research to identify new areas of employer need and new products and markets.
• Responsibility for the weekly managing, monitoring and reporting of KPIs
• Effectively manage team performance and underperformance through the use of monthly performance reviews
• Lead on the curriculum delivery within the Academies, including tutorial/pastoral activities
• Lead all activities associated with the learning journey including but not limited to induction, target setting and progress reviews
• Monitor learner recruitment success and progression in line with budgeted revenue requirements.
• Ensure that delivery is cost effective, in terms of revenue generation and cost control.
• Monitor and control centre costs in line with budgeted expenditure requirements.
• Monitor and control course information
• Undertake marketing recruitment and promotional activities as directed.
• Responsible for the development and supply of all appropriate requested information – monthly update reports to Line Manager, data reports
• Effective development of Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) in conjunction with Line Manager, Quality Department and team members, leading to SAR compilation for apprenticeship delivery.
• Implement and comply with the Company’s Equality & Diversity, Safeguarding and Health & Safety Policies.

• Undertake such duties as may be required commensurate with the level of responsibility and nature of the job in discussion with your line manager.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
a) A proven track record of delivery within the Academy model of delivery, with a background which includes both sales and marketing.
b) Previous experience operating at a management level with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding challenging targets through their own activity and through the effective management of staff and resources.
c) Outstanding interpersonal skills and written communication skills.
d) Ability to write business tenders and present to audiences.
e) Energy, vision and passion.
f) An understanding of the needs of business and the importance of skills to business competitiveness.
g) A good understanding of apprenticeships and skills.
h) Qualified to Level 3 in Information Technology
i) Have technical competencies in ICT and experience in delivery.
DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
a) A suitable management qualification
b) TAQA
c) Teaching Qualification
d) Curriculum experience in other sector areas such as accountancy.
