Salary: £29,400 – £36,000 per annum

Our client is one of the UK’s leading support services companies, They deliver many key services including, design, build, manage, operate and maintaining assets, Dealing with companies both in the UK and overseas, Supplying customers in a wide variety of industry sectors including, Defence, Marine, Naval, MoD, Nuclear, Communications, Energy and Transportation. They now have an immediate requirement for an Academy Instructor (Electrical Discipline), Based in Gosport, Hampshire. You will be responsible for delivering practical training to NVQ Level 2 and BTEC Electrical Engineering subjects to Level 3.
The craft related subjects are based around Manufacturing / Maintenance and it is envisaged that this role will suit someone that has completed an Electrical Apprenticeship and has developed skills wiring, testing and assembly of electronic circuits along with having proven experience of maintaining a wide variety of Electrical & Electronic equipment and machinery.
This presents itself as an ideal opportunity to join an established company and, although not essential, could be well suited for a person who has previously served in the Armed Forces i.e. British Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and within a similar Electrical / Electronic Engineering training role.
Responsibilities:
– The development of NVQ and / or BTEC programmes in readiness for delivery.
– Demonstrate and support good practice through innovative teaching and learning strategies. – Promote the sharing of ideas across the Academy to support objectives in maintaining an “outstanding” provider.
– Participate in internal verification activities to ensure compliance and standardisation across the Academy.
– Carry out instruction for classes Mark all work and provide feedback to students.
– Produce schemes of work, lesson plans and course materials.
– Ensure all appropriate teaching resources are available for delivery.
– Writing student progress reports.
– Manage student performance.
– Undertake student induction and performance development reviews.
– Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures.
– Ensure that Academy delivery complies with all internal and external quality measures.
– Protect assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference.
– Comply with the Data Protection Act 1998.
– creates a culture of high performance and people management and actively manages poor performance.
– Advocates a coaching style of leadership in order to deliver organisation objectives.
– Champions a partnering approach to both business and management of people; knows and understands the key business value of partnering and applies it to both internal and external customers and stakeholders.
Applicant Requirements:
– This role would suit someone that has done a Mech Elec or Electrical type apprenticeship in most areas of Engineering Industries.
– Management of resources and operational risk Experience of programme development and design.
– Competent teacher / instructor with experience of delivering level 2 programmes in the engineering sector (particularly PEO level 2). And / Or Competent teacher / instructor with experience of delivering level 3 programmes in the engineering sector (particularly BTEC National).
– Champions the role of programme and project management in the organisation and maintains an effective relationship with the relevant subject matter experts.
– Literate in Microsoft Office applications. Must hold or be working towards ATLS / QTLS.
– Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
– Results focused.

Benefits:
