Job Title: AAT Newly Qualified – Prestigious local firm

Salary: £27,600 + excellent benefits and working environment plus ACCA study support and training.

Location: Tunbridge Wells, Kent

The Firm:

Our leading and prestigious client in Tunbridge Wells, requires a professional person who has spent their career to-date in a firm of accountants/advisors. Having recruited five people in to this team, we can vouch for what a lovely team it is to work within. The Accounting and Business Advisory Department currently requires an AAT newly qualified to join its 10 staffed team.

The Role:

In this role you will prepare accounts up to trial balance for limited companies, partnerships, sole traders and Trusts/Estates from client records. The majority of the department’s client base is OMBs with £1-£2 million turn over and a few audit clients up to £12 million turnover, and other charitable/ not for profit clients. You will be required to visit client’s premises so you must be a car driver and have excellent client facing skills. There is the opportunity to progress within the role as well as supervise more junior members of the department, full ACCA study package is also on offer with this role.

Working as an AAT qualified within the ABA department your principal accountabilities will include;

Client Service;

  • Gain information from client staff in connection with part of assignment being worked on.

  • Respond to client requests for information promptly and in a professional and courteous manner at all times.

  • Recognise when information provided by the client is incomplete and inaccurate and take steps to rectify this.

Business Skills;

  • Record time accurately and promptly, keeping adequate records of time spent on client assignments.

  • Deliver value by consistently providing high quality service (work standards, responsiveness, achievement of deadlines, communication) at own level.

Management;

  • Ensure that timescales and deadlines set down are achieved, seeking advice regarding the resolution of issue and problems as appropriate.

  • Understand how your role fits into the team and keep others informed of you own workload and progress.

  • Understand the firm’s brand values and seek to operate within them.

The Candidate:

My client is seeking an AAT qualified candidate, with 2-3 years’ experience in an accountancy practice which must include experience of accounts preparation for a range of clients using Sage, SAPA and CCH. You will also be enthusiastic, career focused and continually strive to learn and develop new skills. A dynamic and bright team player with the ability to interact with different individuals and show commitment to activities which develop team spirit within the team/office.
