A-Level School Leaver – Trainee Underwriting Assistant

We have a one off opportunity for an A-Level school leaver with a minimum 3 passes C grade or better.

Working in the City for a fantastic Insurance Managing Agency, this opportunity will give one lucky applicant the opportunity to take a very credible step on the London Market Insurance Industry.

Many areas of the role may on reading seem involved or complex, but full training on all aspects of the role will be provided before being given the task.

Main duties will Involve the following:

Writing up all business and checking system entries.

Providing statistical information to the line underwriter when required, liaising with credit control regarding premium payments and monitoring renewal lists.

Ensuring that electronic records are kept fully up to date following amendments and endorsements.

Checking slips for contract certainty and completing contract certainty check lists and QA tool checklists.

Preparing information packs and taking minutes for monthly departmental meetings, on a rota.

Liaising with Underwriting Support and catastrophe modelling departments.

Maintaining an up to date and efficient filing system.

Photocopying and scanning.

Applicants should possess a good understanding of Excel, in particular spreadsheets, be well presented and business-like with a professional outlook.

Very good interpersonal skills and organisational skills are also essential as is being able to adapt to a pressured environment.

Full training on the company’s software and systems will be given.

Additionally, fully funded study support will be given to the successful incumbent to study for professional examinations all the way to Associate Membership of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
