Job Title: 6 Month Contract – Human Resources Manager (Shared Services)

Salary: £42,000 – £48,000

Job Purpose

  • To ensure the provision of high quality and effective HR Shared Service across the Group
  • To manage the day-to-day HR transactional people services ensuring that a high quality service is provided which delivers against agreed Service Level Agreements
  • To lead and manage the delivery of the end to end Employee Services for all activities in HR Shared Services
  • Direct line management of the HR Shared Services Officers and Administrators, ensuring a high level of service delivery, quality and compliance
  • Approximately 3,000 employees from Directors to Production Operatives.
  • Dealing directly with queries of employees at all levels, supporting the needs of the Controllers, Directors and Senior Executives
  • 3 direct reports and responsibility of managing the needs of the payroll team in the absence of their immediate line Manager

Principal Responsibilities

  • To provide leadership and management of the HR Services Advisers and HR Administration teams, working in collaboration with Payroll ensuring a high level of service is provided
  • To line manage and coach the team, identifying talent and making sure the team has the correct skills to deliver an effective and high quality service
  • To ensure all changes in HR Shared Services policy is communicated to the team and all working practices/communications are aligned to the new practices
  • To work with the HR Managers to understand business strategy and requirements, and shape service solutions in the team to meet changing customer demand
  • To ensure high standards of compliance and controls are set and maintained in respect of the management and use of various HR information systems
  • To ensure the highest level of compliance in the team is achieved and that any internal and external standards are met
  • Manage all HR administration in relation to reference requests, change of personal details, BUPA and Pension queries etc in accordance with agreed service levels
  • To work in collaboration with the payroll department to coordinate the input and processing of all salaries, allowances and annual bonus, ensuring exact attention to detail at all time
  • Previous HR (shared services) people management experience is essential
  • Strong knowledge of HR, Pension and Payroll principles
  • Expert user of Word/Excel/Powerpoint
  • Knowledge of Snowdrop preferred, and the ability to act as a super user with and an understanding of SQL and Report Writer desirable
  • Excellent analytical skills (budgetary skills)
  • To be able to work within specified deadlines

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Previous HR (shared services) people management experience is essential
  • Strong knowledge of HR, Pension and Payroll principles
  • Work with highly confidential information in a discreet manner
  • Expert user of Word/Excel/Powerpoint
  • Knowledge of Snowdrop preferred, and the ability to act as a super user with and an understanding of SQL and Report Writer desirable
  • Excellent analytical skills (budgetary skills)
  • To be able to work within specified deadlines
