Our client is focused on providing the best IT support services. They’ve been around for over ten years, perfecting their offering and making sure their customer service is the best in the business. Due to their continuing success in the SME sector, they are now seeking an additional 3rd Line Support Engineer to join their team.

The Role:

Working across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire, as a 3rd Line IT Support Engineer, you’ll be providing a personalised IT support service to over 100 SMEs and over 1200 devices.

Specifically, you’ll deliver managed IT service and solutions, supporting the customer base onsite & remotely dealing with difficult technical issues and customer projects.

The Ins and Outs:

Working with a wide range of technologies (everyone is different after all), you will deal with Microsoft and Apple operating systems, desktops, servers, Small Business Server, SQL, Exchange and Hyper-V and other business applications such as Sage as well as cloud services such as Microsoft Office 365, Amazon Web services and Hosted Desktops.

On the networking side, you’ll deal with a variety of routers, switches and configurations from simple networks to multi-vlan, multi-wan networks.

Our client is truly pro-active in monitoring their customers’ networks and so you’ll need a big picture mindset in order to monitor our customers’ IT estates of nearly 1,200 devices.

The Requirements:

To be successful as an 3rd Line IT Support Engineer, you will need both telephone & onsite IT support experience dealing with networking, servers, desktops and hardware.

You will also need to be a tenacious problem solver with great trouble shooting capabilities who thrives on the challenge and satisfaction of providing amazing customer service. Multi-tasking will come naturally to you and you will be comfortable thinking on your feet and learning new skills.

Additionally, you will need a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle, due to the need for occasional travel.

A degree would be beneficial to your application, as would a Microsoft qualification, such as MCP, MCITP, MCSA and MCSE.
