1st Line Support Engineer:

This established and growing IT Managed Service Solutions Company based in Leicester seeks to appoint a 1st Line Support Engineer to provide excellent 1st Line and some 2nd Line Support Services to its diverse customer base.

Our client is a well-established and growing IT Managed Services business based in Leicester with a strong and loyal customer base. Whilst currently a small team, the team members are highly experienced, dedicated IT Professionals with big ambitions for the company.

Offering a leading and comprehensive range of IT Services, this company is now poised for further rapid growth and seeks to appoint 1st Line Support Engineer to work within its Support Engineer team.

More About the Role and Requirements:

  • 1st Line Support to a diverse client base

  • Logging service calls and monitoring the support activities to resolve client queries and issues

  • Good general technical awareness / set-up knowledge of hardware such as computers / printers / phones etc.

  • Escalate issues to full 2nd Line Technical Support as required, resolving more detailed queries as the role progresses

  • Capability to work proactively to address and manage client requirements at a 1st line level

  • Understanding of basic networking / protocols (TCP / IP), Firewalls, LAN / WAN

  • Microsoft SQL Servers are core technologies and therefore it is beneficial to have an understanding of configuring / administering Microsoft SQL Servers

  • Knowledge of supporting Linux and Apple useful but not essential

  • Due to the diverse customer base and their individual IT Services requirements it is essential that you have a flexible approach and are willing to learn

  • You must be confident, professional and customer focused with effective communication skills

  • You will be enthusiastic and passionate about technology with a willingness to take the extra steps to understand customers and their requirements

  • Whilst the role is based at our client’s Leicester office, a valid driving licence is required to enable the person to visit the customer premises when required
