Think Specialist Recruitment is working with a highly successful local business to recruit a 1st Line IT Helpdesk Support candidate on a permanent basis. The company provides specialist software to their client base across the UK and require a competent candidate to work on their helpdesk and provide 1st line support to their customers. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, established and successful business based in Hemel Hempstead with good opportunities for progression!
The company will consider a graduate with an IT related degree or somebody with customer service experience looking for an IT/Helpdesk role.
Duties to include:
- Answer support calls and resolve any queries/issues to the best of your ability.
- Provide a fantastic service to all customers
- Ensure customer issues are resolved as quickly and efficiently as possible
- If you are unable to resolve any issues then they must be reported to a more senior member of the team or to the Customer Services Manager without delay.
- Troubleshoot software/hardware issues for customers
- Log all support calls onto the internal helpdesk system
- Accurately record the query or problem.
- Detail your solution to the query or problem.
- Note any recommendations or advice given.
- Pass on to another support person or to the Customer Services Manager any incidents you are unable to resolve.
- Monitor ongoing or reoccurring problems and report them to the Customer Services Manager without delay.
- Test new software prior to deployment.
- Keep user documentation up to date.
- Generally help in all areas of support desk duties including packing/unpacking
Candidate requirements:
- Friendly, presentable, excellent telephone manner
- Organised, methodical, fantastic problem solving skills
- Previous IT Helpdesk/1st Line support experience desirable
- Good working knowledge of PC software – Windows, MS Office etc
- Understanding of IT hardware – printers, routers, servers etc
- Excellent customer service skills
- Hard working and dedicated character
