121 Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a specialist provision based in Newport to recruit a teaching assistant full time for their year 2 class, to work 121 with a little boy with Autism.

You will be joining a large support team that excel in driving pupils learning and development. This specialist school play a key role in supporting pupils diagnosed with Autism both verbal and non-verbal or co-existing conditions including ADHD, learning difficulties, downs-syndrome, epilepsy and/or Mental Health Difficulties.

The ideal teaching assistant will:

• Be experienced with SEN (personal, voluntary or professional)
• Have an understanding or experience supporting ASC, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD or PMLD
• Have a calm nature and proactive approach
• Be expected to help with personal care at times due to the care needs of the pupil
