NHS 111 Clinical Advisors (Nurse or Paramedic)
Based in Peterborough

£18.00per hour plus membership of the NHS pension and Childcare Voucher Scheme.

HERTS URGENT CARE is proud to deliver the extremely successful NHS 111 Service in Hertfordshire and across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. NHS 111 makes it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services. When you need medical help fast but it’s not a 999 emergency, NHS 111 is a fast and easy way to get the right help, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

We are now recruiting Clinical Advisors for the NHS 111 Service to cover shifts on a Part time basis averaging 20.5 hours per week per which includes working evenings overnights and weekends.

This is a really exciting time to be joining us and be able to influence the success of the service which enables patients to call a dedicated call centre located in Peterborough, for health advice and appropriate health referral to other local services. This role would be suitable for a paramedic or nurse, with current HCPC or NMC registration.
It is essential that you are able to commit to a 24 hour rotating shift pattern 365 days a year. This includes working days, evenings/nights, weekends and public holidays including Christmas day.

Main Duties:

• To carry out complex clinical triage, providing assessment, advice and information in line with the clinical assessment software, whilst utilising professional judgement and referring to other agencies as appropriate
• To respond to and assist call handlers in the management of critical situations.
• To manage the patient flow ensuring that all targets are met within allocated timeframes whilst ensuring patient safety

Skills required:

• You must be a registered nurse, paramedic or other suitably qualified healthcare professional. (NMC, HCPC etc)
• Have exceptional communication skills.
• Have an understanding of the call handling and telephone triage roles.
• Understand operational policies and protocols.
• You should note that should you be successful at interview you will be required to undertake a 4 week full time training course prior to staring the position. This training will of course be paid.
• Training: 4 weeks of full time training. We will discuss with you at interview when the next available date is.
