We could have your ideal role at one of our local schools in Lewisham, South East London. Teaching Personnel are seeking a full time Teaching Assistant to work at one of our local schools in Lewisham. This role is based at a friendly school for secondary age pupils with a department dedicated to students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and/or autism. Many of the students will have autism related complications such as speech + language difficulties or sensory issues, and all pupils will have EHCPs or be undergoing the process to get one.
Your main responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant
- Assist pupils with activities set by the Class Teacher
- Encourage pupils to engage in their learning
- Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and development
- Ensure the highest levels of safety and safeguarding
Successful candidates will
- Have experience working in a school or related area (youth coaching, support work etc)
- Demonstrate some background knowledge of the role of an SEN TA
- Be reliable, resilient, and nurturing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
