Prospero are currently looking to recruit Qualified Specialist Mentors to support Higher Education students with mental health conditions one-to-one in Liverpool City Centre.

Your role as a Specialist Mentor will be to assist students in developing strategies that will allow them to become more confident and independent learners. You will help them to develop skills to manage their anxieties during periods of stress, to better manage their time and to generally improve their work-life balance.

You will work with your students each week focusing on areas such as coping mechanisms, time management, exam preparation and work scheduling.

Each student has individual requirements so you will work closely with students and with Prospero to ensure the best support possible is provided.

As this is a specialist role, there is a specific criteria. Any candidate who is interested in this role MUST hold a DBS on the update service AND have a Professional Body Membership at one of the following organisations:

(ACP) – Full member.
(BABCP) – Accredited membership.
(BACP) (MBACP) (MBACP – Accred)
(BPC) – Under a member institution
(BPS) – Chartered Member (CPsychol)/IAPT register/ Graduate Member (MBPsS) AND a PG qualification in Psychology or Mental Health.
(COSCA) – Accredited
(FDAP) – National Counsellor Accreditation Certificate (NCAC)
(GMC) – Psychiatry – Full member or above.
(HCPC) – Arts Therapist/ Occupational Therapist/ Practitioner Psychologist/ Social Worker in England
(IACP) – Accredited member
(NCS) – (MNCS Accred). (MNCS Prof Accred). (MNCS Snr Accred). (FNCS).
(NMC) – Mental Health Nurse/ Community Mental Health Nurse / Psychiatric Nurse
(SSSC)
(SCW)
(NISCC)
(UKCP) – Full clinical individual member
(UMHAN) – UMHAN mentor member.
Association of Christian Counsellors (UK) – Accredited Counsellor
