1:1 Sen Ta Required – September Start – East London

A mainstream Catholic primary school in East London are now looking for Teaching Assistants to support children with SEN across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. The school recently achieved “Good” in its recent OFSTED inspection and provides a happy and secure environment for staff and pupils alike. They promote a strong Catholic ethos within their curriculum and seek individuals who are comfortable in teaching the same philosophy, although sharing the same beliefs is not essential.

The successful applicant will:

• Have a minimum grade C in GCSE Maths and English
• Ideally have a good undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline – 2.2 or above
• Have experience working with children of Primary school age
• Have a basic knowledge of SEN – experience working with this is ideal!
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Have a calm and patient manner when working with children
• Be able to engage well with children

The roles will involve supporting a child on a 1:1 basis who has a form of SEN. The needs of the children vary in severity and will include Autism, ADHD, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties as well as other learning difficulties. TAs will be responsible for differentiating the curriculum for the child to understand, managing any behavioural difficulties and maintaining accurate records of the child’s progress in class.

These are Full Time, Long Term roles starting in September and continuing for the full academic year.
