With this in mind, we currently have an opportunity for a Part Time Learner Support Worker (SpLD) to work Term Time only within the Supported Learning department.
As directed by the ALS Manager you will provide support for students that have been diagnosed as dyslexic. You will work in the dyslexia team and provide the following types of support; 1-1, small group and/or on-line support using a multi-sensory approach. You will undertake administration responsibilities and implement procedures within agreed timescales
Key responsibilities (but not limited to) are as follows:
-To develop and deliver high quality dyslexia support
-Develop materials appropriate for 1-1 support and workshop based support
-To liaise with curriculum/ dyslexia tutors and outside agencies to ensure consistency of provision and the fulfilment of learner needs.
-Assisting learners in developing learning strategies to enable them to become independent learners and advise of their academic progress.
-Contribute to learner progress through the on line College LIP/Promonitor process and keep up to date records.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
-Hold a dyslexia level 3/5 support qualification or working towards a level 5.
-Experience of working in an educational environment supporting learners in FE/HE
-Experience and responding to the specific issues faces by learners with dyslexia and other SpLD`s
-Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in English and Maths
