Salary: £36,000 – £50,400 per year

Due to our client`s continued success, they are looking to expand their design team in mansfield and are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated installation fire and security system designer. This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your career within the security and communications industry. You would be required to prepare bills of materials and quotations from client specifications and drawings for various fire and security systems. You will need to have excellent communication skills, an ability to interpret client’s requirements and understand building layouts and schematics

Salary: £30k – £42k (depending on experience and qualifications)

Hours of work: Monday – Friday 8.00am – 5.00pm (Dependant on project requirments)

The role involves:

  • Preparation of designs and quotations for Fire and Security systems.
  • Ensuring designs fully comply with all applicable regulations and standards.
  • Working to defined quotas, deadlines, and budgets.
  • Communicate and build successful working relationships with customers and other employees.
  • Completion of training courses to increase knowledge and performance.
  • Carry out site surveys for the purpose of creating proposals and quotations.
  • Attend internal and external design meetings.
  • Mentor junior staff and trainees.

Key experience/qualifications:

  • You will need to be an accomplished designer within the security industry with at least 3 years’ experience of producing designs and qualifications.
  • You will have a working knowledge of Fire Alarm (BS5839-1 & 6), and CCTV (BS standards.
  • Good IT skills and a familiarity with Microsoft software.
  • You will have a track record of routinely exceeding your KPI’s.
  • Have a keen interest in technology and providing innovative and cost-effective solutions.
  • Highly literate with high attention to details.
  • You will be a team player with ambition who is willing to learn new technologies and procedures.
  • Full driving licence.

Skills and Cpabilties:

  • Level 3 qualification in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or related subject.
  • Relevant Fire Alarm qualification recognised by an industry body, for example the FIA (Fire Industry Association).
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD LT software package.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Well organised, have self-discipline and be able to meet deadlines.
  • A knowledge of PD6662, NCP104, NCP109, BS 8243, BS -2. BS, Equality Act 2010, Building Regulations, Secure by Design and relevant codes of practice.
  • Experience of designing systems with high levels of integration.
