Costings Manager

Salary: £60,000 – £72,000 per year

International clothing manufacturer requires a Costings Manager to form part of a multi-functional team dedicated to the design, development and global production of garments for leading clothing retailers/etailers. The ideal application will have first hand manufacturing background, or a knowledge of work study/or similar.

Costings Manager – The Job Outline

• Screen initial designs to influence and produce a garment costing that will assess the product’s commercial viability and subsequent sources of manufacture
• Collate and scrutinize information from our design, sales, technical, merchandising and finance teams with the objective of improving design to ensure garments can be manufactured cost effectively, maximising margin so that all products have a solid commercial basis.
• Work with senior colleagues to influence the commercial viability of products and the cost-effective sourcing of raw materials
• Perform various ad-hoc tasks in addition to the main role aimed at improving the overall performance of the business.

Costings Manager – The Person Specification

• Educated to degree standard
• Three years plus relevant experience in the clothing industry – experience within the manufacturing setting preferred.
• Experience in work study engineering – preferrable
• Proficient on Excel
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
• A confident, self-motivated, proactive approach capable of working effectively in a team in a demanding fast-paced environment
• Ability to interact effectively with customers, suppliers and colleagues both in the UK and overseas.
