Transport Planner

Salary: £33,600 – £38,400 per year

Our client is an established transport & storage company based on the outskirts of Derby. They are presently looking to appoint a Transport Planner, working on a four on, four off basis. Making best use of available resources, and whilst complying with appropriate legislation and health and safety, you will be responsible for efficient arrangements for the delivery of customers’ products, on time and in full.

Main duties will entail:

• Supervising and planning customer deliveries
• Managing driver hours and days off for European driver fleet
• Keeping up to date with all legislative changes
• Ensuring all trailers and units are presented for planned maintenance
• Conduct accident investigations
• Ensure all loads meet safety regulations
• Source and plan backloads
• Communicate routes to other depots
• Monitor routes and timings
• Ensure all driver documents are completed on time 
• Ad hoc duties as may be required on occasion

Ideally, candidates should have relevant experience and should have a working knowledge of drivers hours, tacho-graph and WTD legislation. Experience of routing/planning within a multi-drop environment would also be extremely desirable as would be a good geographical knowledge of the UK.
