Instructional Officer Joiner

HMP Humber is located 2 miles for South Cave, just outside of Hull. They are looking for an experienced joiner to instruct and teach inmates the skills and knowledge of the joinery trade. Inmates would then get a professional qualification at the end, which they can use the help secure employment once sentence is finished.

Hours of work are Monday- Friday 39 hours per week.

You must have NVQ level 2 or above and at least 7 years’ experience (must have proof). Any applicants that do not have these will not be considered.

Experience in 1st and 2nd fix is preferred as is teaching experience.

You will be subject to the HM Prison Security Clearance procedure. A valid passport, driving license, proof of national insurance and proof of address is required. Applications without such proofs will not be considered. Clearance for the prison service may take up to 6 weeks.

If you have NVQ level 2 or above in joinery/carpentry, with at least 7 years’ experience and you are looking for a challenging yet highly rewarding role then this could be the job for you. Long term temporary position with very possible permanent position after 26 weeks.
