Salary: £30,000 – £60,000 dependent on experience + commission

Our highly successful, top 20 Client who undertake UK management and IT consultancy, specialising in support to the Public Sector and the NHS are looking for a Business Developer. Currently our client has a reputation for the quality and effectiveness of its services and a spread of existing business across all areas of government.

The company’s capabilities range from management consultancy, enterprise transformation/change management, and all aspects of programme & project management, The Business Developer will be responsible for increasing the Recruitment & Placement of IT Contractors to the Private Sector which contributes to IS strategy, technical consulting, system design and integration, web-based solution implementation and Managed Service delivery. The company is qualified under relevant public sector and NHS frameworks for the delivery of such services,including Buying Solutions, and various local frameworks so the Business Development manager will build upon this foundation in targeting the private sector.

The job will be about 60% account management and 40% strong business development. You will want and strive to bring on new clients, enjoy the research in doing so and be very consultative in your approach.

Generic Role Description
•Identifying and targeting new accounts
•Managing and developing existing accounts
•Generating business by direct contact with clients and through supplier agreements, both pro-actively and reactively
•Developing appropriate repeatable services or offering relevant to our markets
•Creating new business through relationships with both our clients and consultants
•To increase our associate pool of specialist consultants focusing specifically around Local Government and LG services
•Work collaboratively with the bid team in preparing proposals and marketing material targeted towards new and existing clients.
•Working with the resource team to allocate appropriate consultants to assignments / projects through review of skills, interviews and referencing and client / project knowledge – often working with selected consultants to produce the business and/or technical content of proposals.
•Consistent contact with clients and with consultants through calls, regular visits and networking to locate further business, suitably skilled consultants and market trends. Much of our market intelligence comes from clients and consultants (who are often in senior/influencing positions) as they move to new roles in different organisations.
•Capitalising on key relationships to develop new market led offerings with existing clients
and with new clients.

Experience
•Ideally degree educated or equivalent, business or IT related
•>3 years experience in a customer facing sales and negotiation role
•Healthcare/NHS contracting or perm experience
•Demonstrable success in developing relationships with clients in new and existing LG and CCG or related prime contractor markets – market ‘making’ experience (ie developing from scratch) will be particularly valuable
•Recent relevant experience of the private sector, gained with a recruitment or managed services provider where recruitment has been a key part of the provision and ideally have a combination of consultancy, business development and sales skills.
•Professional Relationships – willing to input considerable effort on finding and winning business through own efforts, knowledge and networking expertise of specific market sector, combined with using the considerable in-house base of experience available.
•Experience in some or all of the core areas of the Company’s business (project & programme management, business & IS strategy, e-business transformation, IT consulting/development, procurement support/supplier management, Managed Service provision)
•Energetic self-starter, able to operate autonomously, but also be a major contributor to
the team
